Who is Carmen?

My business is named after Carmen Charles Coppini, my wife's late father. He was diagnosed with cancer in 1991 and was soon paralyzed below the waist. My employer, Terry Cooper of Master Typography, generously allowed me to work half days at my father-in-law's house so I could help with his care. Terry was not able to spare a computer, so Carmen bought me my first one. It was a Macintosh SE-30 with a separate full-page monitor! What a machine!

Carmen was a kind, gentle man who left four surviving daughters and no sons. As a small tribute, I named my business after him when I began it in late 1993. Our next child after Carmen's death was our fourth son, and we named him Carmen Charles.

Carmen was a very generous man, and without his material help, I may have never started this business. But his greatest contribution was his example as a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
